House Manger
Since 2020, dWELL has been an affirming recovery housing program on a mission to support young adults in their transition to independence through residences and a community-based approach that supports growth and healing. We provide a personalized, foundational, skills-based model that helps young adults pursue their individual life goals. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and innovative House Manager to join our New York City team and contribute to our goal of making a difference.
dWELL Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate House Manager to work Tuesday-Saturday from 8a-4p.
The House Manager will play an essential role in providing direct support to residents, helping them navigate individualized goals, daily routines, and life skills that promote recovery and independence.
What You Will Do:
- Take lead on 1-2 projects by developing and implementing workflows within the organization. Monitor progress of projects ongoing.
- Support in the extension of programming offered at dWELL which includes but is not limited to transitional living support, transitional studio support, Companion services, etc…
- Ensure Resident advisors are falling within compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Participates in staff meetings, training, and other meetings in accordance with program needs.
- Train new dWELL Recovery team members.
- Weekly 1:1 individualized meetings with the Program Director to Communicate progress towards performance goals, identify and communicate professional development needs and opportunities.
- Achieving performance and professional development goals as identified in individual work plans and individual development plans.
- Lead/co-lead onsite community building activities.
- Co-manage and/or complete weekly apartment checklists for each apartment, restocking necessary items, filling out checklists electronically, and uploading to shared drive.
- Oversight of expenses regarding: Resident/Community supplies, groceries, Weekend activities, etc…
- Co-manage supply stocking and ordering (costco, cleaning, etc.)
- Complete weekly inventory for common household needs (garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, clorox wipes, lysol, tox cups, breathalyzer tips, etc.)
- Manage RA team members to ensure resident chores are completed and chore lists are filled out.
- Develop weekend activities, ongoing.
- In collaboration with dWELL Team members; oversee all resident schedules.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Program Director and House Managers, conduct regular house walkthroughs to ensure the quality of the house is up to standards.
- In collaboration with dWELL Team members, ensure residents' are adherent to their medications.
- Ensure the timely completion of required documentation for every shift, as per agency policy; ensure documentation meets regulatory guidelines for level of care.
- Assist in providing crisis intervention, as necessary.
- Informs Program Director and Assistant Program Director of all activities and significant conditions, which may impact facility operations and resident care.
What You Need to Qualify:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in a related social science field and/or advanced
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working with Substance Use Disorders and the 12 Step Recovery Model
- At least 3 years of experience in adolescent or young adult programs
- At least 2 years of experience in a mental health facility and or crisis management
- Must be able to lift and transport moderate to heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as part of room setup, resident move-ins, and related responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20–40 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, or respond quickly during emergencies
- Ability to walk multiple levels of stairs multiple times daily
- Must be able to complete facility rounds and inspections

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday from 8a-4p
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 (commensurate on experience)
